Absence of standards on aircraft stand markings inside maintenance hangars

Summary
Absence of standards on aircraft stand markings inside maintenance hangars
Description
Industry best practices for stand markings are well established for apron and movement areas through ICAO Annex 14, Doc 9157 and the ACI Apron Markings & Signs Handbook, but no formal global standard specifically addresses the internal maintenance hangar markings.

This may lead to the fact that in many hangars, the absence of standardized lead-in lines, stop lines, center-wheel markings and safety exclusion zones has been linked to aircraft ground handling incidents, collisions, damage to aircraft or GSE, personnel injuries, or inadequate FOD detection in critical areas.

Inconsistent or unclear visual guidance within hangars can cause aircraft mis-positioning during towing, incorrect stop positions leading to structural contact, collisions with hangar doors/structure leading to aircraft and/or facilities damage, trips/strikes to personnel and increased risk during low-visibility ops.
